The Westwind Swing Band was founded by Joe Singer in 2014 and includes members from all over the western Twin Cities communities. It performs public concerts throughout the year at a number of locations throughout the Twin Cities. From senior centers to breweries, the band enjoys the wide variety of venues. The instrumentation consists of a hybrid of Dixieland and swing and features music of the 1920s-1940s. Selections include popular songs from the Great American Songbook in addition to music from other big bands such as Ellington and Goodman. If you’re a fan of Dixieland, swing, and Artie Shaw, you’ll love the Westwind Swing Band.
